Product: audio logic radio
Targeted audience: Everyone
When I heard about reverse engineering, it seemed intrusting and wanted to know more. Reverse engineering is used in industries, to make upgrades on a product and also, to fix any problem that seen in that certain product. It teaches that all the parts need to make sure of and that taking it apart can help you fix. Then put back apart for no flaws are present. It will let them listen to radio in the small offices and be in the area so you can enjoy it.
Criteria and constraints were that it has to have a safety component with it. Another is that the maximum of $99.99 or below. The must be provided in three different colors. Also the radio must appeal to both genders in shape. The radio had to have a remote control with it as well. The criteria helped with the design of the new product. We upgraded the radio by reducing the size to about one-third the size of the original. Adding a compartment for the remote control and adding a screen to see what you’re listening to. We repositioned the CD compartment that was in front of the radio to the top of the radio and make it so that you can push to open it. The screen and buttons are made out of fiber glass or thinner to reduce the plastic usage, though with this upgrade you still to press it, but very gently. The batteries were reduced to form 8volts (6, 1.5 volts batteries) to 4.5volts (3, 1.5 volts batteries), but it stills has the plug just in case. We decided to make those colors to be black, silver and white for theses are the most popular colors that sell. We practiced illustration skills by drawing detailed drawings of the font, sides, back and the inside of the radio. We used our research skills to look up the components of the radio that we drew. Then we had to name them on our paper and what their function is. We had to use interpretation to find how we were going to make the new product eye-catching.
This project was fun and also was a great experience to know how companies upgrade their product. I didn’t know that you had to do so many things in order to upgrade a product. Other than that everything came out pretty well. I would do more things like think again.
